Yes. Unheard.FM connects to your Spotify account using official Spotify authentication (OAuth). We never access your password, and your listening history is only used to filter out tracks you've already heard. Our app has been vetted by Spotify's Developer Program, which is required for extended API access. We follow Spotify's Developer Terms and security guidelines to the best of our ability.

Unheard.FM uses Spotify access to fetch your known tracks (so we can avoid repeats) and to create new playlists on your behalf. It also helps verify that users are real (not bots or automated agents attempting to abuse the service). You can revoke access at any time via your Spotify account settings .

We store only the minimum required to help your device interact with Spotify. Your listening history is stored locally in your browser, not on our servers. Most filtering and playlist generation happens directly on your device. Our backend never accesses your Spotify library. It only facilitates login and securely refreshes your token if needed.
